[The feed turns on, and Locke's face is staring closely at the shell. The look is a little distant, but Locke snaps too. He didn't turn this thing on to stare at it all day long. He actually had a legitimate question, and then some.]

So when you get to the bottom of it, Eidolons are kind of like Espers. You can consider magicite as some sort of dying fragment of a crystal. And here, magic isn't really a skill that's derived solely from magical beings, but it's still an inherent part of nature itself.

There's a lot of parallels between all of our worlds. Distinctions. Hope you guys can follow where I'm going with this, yeah?

[Locke pauses momentarily, his arms crossed and his eyes closed. His brows are furrowed, semi-lost in thought.]

Back where I'm from, we knew Ramuh, Shiva, and Ifrit— [Note, the past tense.] —chocobos and moogles weren't anything new, either. I'm pretty sure our world isn't the only one sharing a similar trait or two... or ten, with this place. If you think about it, it's more like we're all linked because our worlds are so similar to each other.

[Of course, finally... Locke gets to his point, looking straight at his audience. Kind of. He's maintaining eye contact, okay!! Except... even though Locke looks like he wants to say something more, he doesn't. He lets it go. Maybe he'll ask about that matter some other time.]

Well, now you have my two cents. Anyone care to share their thoughts on those dreams we all had?

[Whenever Locke enters Mysidia, he can find out without much effort that Terra isn't staying at the inn anymore, but she can be found entering town at some point. She's heading toward the sundries shop and doesn't see him yet. Ambush her?]

[He can find that Terra's not staying at the inn even without checking the inn. In the short time he's known Kain, Locke has learned a lot about the dragoon's straightforward thought process that if anything, it's going to be damn hard to track Terra down.

But when he does see her, he employs his stealth skills to sneak up behind her and then—

Ruffles her hair!! Messes it up with both hands!!!! What are you going to do Terra!!!!!]

[Terra eeps and jumps, whirling around to--]

Locke?!?

[And she clings! Who cares about mussed hair, he's back!]

[Who knew Locke would be so popular with the girls!

I mean... what. Locke pats Terra on the back before pulling away, looking straight at her. Do you see the mock irritated face, Terra, full with a held back grin and all? It just goes to show that Locke can never really stay mad at Terra.]

That's for being so hard to find!

I'm sorry!

[She knows he's just kidding, but still. Terra didn't think about being hard to find until just that moment.]

If it helps, we're not camped that far away. I have to come here daily, after all.

[Sometime after Locke's initial sneak attack, Edgar spots the pair of them, having only recently arrived in town himself, and smiles as he makes his way towards them in long strides, looking more than a little grateful to see his friends again.]

Aha! I knew I'd be able to spot the two of you easily once I got here.

[Turning at the sound of his voice, Terra immediately perks up.]

Edgar! I'm so glad you made it here safely.

[The king smiles openly, idly raking his hair back with his fingers before making sure his ponytail is hanging over his shoulder just right as he comes to a stop.]

I'm just glad I was fortunate enough to have familiar faces here to greet me. You're both well, I hope?

[At the sound of Edgar's voice, Locke turns and lets Terra have all the wibble time as possible before crossing his arms. It's good to see Edgar safe and sound—and it shows in the way that Locke's trying to hold back a beaming grin.]

Just got here? You sure took your sweet time.

[He's teasing, of course.]

[Terra just shakes her head.]

Locke....

[She knows it's just teasing, but her tone is a warning not to get too carried away.]

And yes, I'm fine. The people here have been very helpful. Do you know if Relm and Cyan were going to be here, too...?

[Edgar crosses his arms in turn, giving Locke a knowing smirk in reply.]

Well, I did urge the pilot to fly faster, but he didn't seem to take well to that suggestion, even when I offered to modify his engine. Talk about rude!

[His smile softens when he turns his attention back to Terra.]

I haven't heard much from either of them. Nothing from Relm at all, as a matter of fact.

[He feigns a scowl, reaching up to lightly stroke his chin.]

Which might be for the best... I don't need her outing me to new people as a dirty old man.

[The phrase "dirty old man" is one which Kain hears as he comes along, and he does not look too pleased about that. He gives an annoyed glare.]

Hello, Terra.

[Why yes, he's going toward Terra to take her hand and kiss her. Not to... rub it in or anything.]

[Edgar wordlessly raises an eyebrow at the new arrival, recognizing him as Terra's laconic and particularly possessive beau from the linkshell. He turns his attention to Terra instead.]

Perhaps more official introductions are in order. Edgar Figaro.

[He turns back to Kain and offers his hand to be shaken.]

King.

[Just so you know.]

Kain Highwind. Dragoon.

[He frowns for a moment, but then realizes that Terra is there which means... well, it means he has to make an effort to not be grumpy. If he can. So he grudgingly holds out his hand to shake.]

[Edgar's grip is stronger than his appearance lets on, and the handshake he gives is firm, one he often reserves to use with diplomats from other nations to subtly inform them that he is in no way a pushover. The same message applies here, he feels.]

So. You're our Terra's new beau.

[The look he gives Kain is subtly scrutinous, appraising.]

[Kain returns that with his own stern expression, his grip just as strong.]

Indeed. We met in a world far removed from this one.

[Rydia listens intently, nodding slightly throughout. It makes sense enough to her, at least.]

That's a good point. Our worlds all seem to have things in common, to some degree. Even those without crystals -that we know of- have shared traits.

As for those dreams....

[He perks. She's that summoner—an important person to keep track of in this place.] —go on. I'm all ears.

...well, my little girl says that the first dream was a memory of hers.

It sounds as if our words share much. Espers from Ivalice are different than what I have seen here.

You speak of Ifrit and Shiva. They are Eidolons, correct? Where I come from, they are ships.

Espers, Eidolons—they sound like they're pretty much the same thing.

Ships?

[He looks thoughtful for the moment.]

All right, let me put out another question for you. Where did those ships get their names from?
