( the linkshell clicks on as it falls to the ground, as a pair of white shoes and pink leggings come running out from the edge. it looks like -- she's running towards a pair of monsters, and as she gets further away from the communicator, the rest of her comes into view. long pink hair fasted into a ponytail on the side, bouncing back and forth with every stride )

I need your help! Let's go! ( she calls out; almost as though she's expecting someone -- or something to pop out of nowhere. but there's no sign of anything like that... ) Huh? What's going on? They won't answer me anymore?! ( whatever didn't happen... is apparently a cause for alarm. but as one of the goblins lunges forward to strike, she dodges at the last minute )

Well Mog... I'm not sure if you can hear me, but it looks like it's just you and me! ( that sword she was carrying a moment ago seems to shift seamlessly into a bow as she stops in her tracks, and pulls back on the string ) Let's show 'em what we've got!

( the battle doesn't last long. a few hits and the goblins go down without that much of a fight. it's good news -- since she's flying solo right now it seems... but she's pretty sure that she heard something in the distance... )

( her weapon disappears as she makes her way back to the linkshell -- a bit surprised to see someone's face within it ) Oh! Can you hear me...? Hello?

Well, to be honest, I was in a bit of a hurry to find someone... Maybe you've seen them? His name's Noel -- he's brunette, and wears a pretty flashy outfit.

[So yeah, this hero just happens to be strolling along, and... what. WHAT THE HELL. Snow stops dead in his tracks, staring at the ponytail'd girl for a moment. Hey, that kinda looks like—

Then she's speaking, and... yep. It's definitely Serah. Serah Farron. His Serah. But she's holding a weapon, and actually fighting.

And what's the deal with that crazy outfit?!

SERAH!

[Hey, look at that! Someone's actually calling out the correct name this time! Third time's the charm? Snow spurs on forward from instinct alone, and as the arrow his fiancee's just launched hits one of the monsters... he rushes right into its companion, a fist landed squarely between the eyes.]

( what do you mean you don't like the new threads, snow... she just woke up in them okay?? it's not like she had much of a choice... but it is a little breezy, she'll agree to that...
but that voice. that unforgettable voice! her attention is immediately captured as he rushes into the scene ) Snow!

( all right -- so it might have been the retro version... but it was snow all the same! ) Am I... Am I dreaming? ( but the goblins are quick to remind her that there's no time to daydream about this as one of them launches an attack, throwing its dagger at the two of them )

Watch out! ( she manages, pulling back on another arrow to knock the weapon off it's path. looks like they wre going to have to take these guys out before they got any peace and quiet... )

[Hey, the dreaming thing is Snow's line! In a completely different time, place, and hairstyle anyway. He looks a bit stunned as Serah's arrow deflects the blade—where'd she learn to do that!?—but another blow from him sends one of the goblins sprawling backwards, momentarily knocked off its feet.]

You try and take 'em out with that thing! I'll cover you!

[STEELGUARD, go!]

That's right, big guy. C'mere and get a piece of me!

[Hoping to draw their fire long enough for Serah to at least stun them, Snow beckons the monsters toward him. It seems to work, at least for the moment. Both of them end up rushing at him instead, daggers whizzing through the air.]

( okay, so maybe she was taking a page out of your book there... it's still not copywright material for at least 3 more years all right?? but there wasn't any time to get creative! )

Right! ( she gets into position slightly behind him and throws her bow back up towards the sky again. she pulls back on its string, the magic taking shape in the form of an arrow as she concentrates. if you didn't know any better, you might think this was some sort of sweet cinematic action scene or something... hammer the x button, serah!! )

I've got it! ( and with that, she releases -- a rain of glowing arrows showering the two unfortunate goblins below. it's clearly a bit of overkill, since they're reduced to a pile of ash at the end of it... )

[Snow watches in awe at the rubble left behind, merely a pile of goblin-ash... he scratches the back of his head, almost gaping at this point, long after the smoke's settled.

Did Serah really do... that?

But finally his attention shifts back to her, gaze flickering over her outfit and face entirely betraying the dumbfounded confusion he's feeling. Never mind that he wasn't expecting to see Serah just yet at all given the circumstances that had led him to being here... but now? Like this? There's something that seems different about her, the fighting notwithstanding.]

[But then the realization hits him that it's really her, regardless, and soon Snow's springing forward to wrap her in a tight hug.]

Dunno how this is even possible, but... I'm not gonna complain!
