( fang sits atop one of eblan's castle walls, lounging with a bit of a snack, and making sure to send some scraps in the direction of a small brown dragon that flies in and out of the camera's view ) Well that was a rush. Can't say I saw it comin', sendin' Eidolons after us like that. ( a chuckle ) At least not this early on, I suppose.

So, what's next, then? I'm not too fond of the idea of just waitin' it out and see which one comes our way.

[Terra smiles upon spotting the small brown dragon. So cute.]

Thank you for helping us. I'm not sure we could have helped Bahamut in time, otherwise.

( a soft chuckle ) No need for that. It wasn't my first time fightin' Bahamut. And I'd almost be disappointed if it was my last.

That experience must have helped.

[...and okay, she has to ask.]

Who's your new companion?

( she chuckles, holding out her arm for the dragon to land. he does so, and looks a little well-to-do about it -- sort of in an 'oh, you're talking about me?' manner. wait... that's silly, he's just a dragon... heh ) This here's Chocolat. Seems like the dragons entrusted him to yours truly, just like the others.

[She can't help but smile upon noting his demeanor.]

He seems very regal. I wonder if he would get along with Adelind and Zephyr....

Only one way to find out, right? ( she tilts her head as she looks him over -- ) I bet you'd be a ladykiller, eh? ( and she gives him a good scritch under his chin -- ) Bit surprised they were so free with their own young -- but I guess it's a good sign they trust us.

Well, you're all dragoons. Kain said that the dragoons here each used to have a dragon of their own. I guess they saw fit to revive that tradition.

Dragoons, huh. Funny, I hadn't heard the term until I came here.

Neither did I, except as Dragoon Boots. They're magical items that can allow you to jump high in the air.

( she chuckles at that -- ) Sounds about right...

As Terra has said, we appreciate your aid in that battle. We can only hope the same won't happen again.

If it does, we deal with it again. Simple as that.

We will. I've no doubt of that.

Of course, the two of you weren't so shabby on your own, either.

[A pause, as he's been looking curiously at the dragon, of course.]

The dragons have honored you, as well...

Trusted me, I suppose. ( the dragon seems to have perched on the linkshell itself... looking down at it wrong side up. he chirps, then takes off again ) Heh. Can't say they're bad company, at the very least.

[Even Kain looks vaguely happy about that, though it's subtle. Baby dragons bring up a not often seen side of him.]

They're better company than most people. To be gifted with them to raise... there's no greater honor in the world...

...You fight like a dragoon. I'm surprised to see it in people from other worlds.

Dragoon, huh. I admit, that one's still new to me. But those dragons didn't seem to be too bothered with me being around, that's for sure... ( hmm... ) I'll go out on a limb here and say you must be one of them as well.

I'm a dragoon, yes, and this world is my home. We've a strong connection to dragons, and we fight in the air and use lances... you may as well be one, even if not in name.

So the coincidences just keep pilin' up, huh. ( she reaches behind her and unfastens her lance -- ) I didn't want to come out and say it at first, but this weapon -- they call it Kain's Lance. ( her eyes flicker over to the camera -- ) That mean anythin' to you, sunshine?

[Kain gasps, it looks exactly like the lance he uses.]

How can that be... Tell me more of where you obtained that.

Not much I can say about it. ( she wishes that wasn't the case, but... ) It was crafted from items we found along the way. Don't know how it got that name; or what it means for you, but... It sure is strange.

Very strange... your world truly bears no resemblance to this one?

[It's too big a coincidence to ignore, but she's never indicated any similarities before. Aside from her fighting style...]

We've got monsters and Eidolons, but other than that... not much I can say is the same. I mean, there were two worlds where I'm from, but one of 'em wasn't a moon.

Yet somehow there are those few similarities. How strange.

Let's hope they don't go much further, otherwise we might be in for a nasty surprise or two.

I've been wondering the same. Waiting isn't exactly my style, in times like these.

[He smiles, watching the dragon flit in and out of the image. He'd known that Fang had gained a companion, as well, but this is his first time seeing him with his own eyes.]

That's not too hard to believe. ( a chuckle; as the dragon comes to perch on her shoulder finally -- )

This is Chocolat. A gift from the dragons, same as your Adelind there.

I like to think of myself as a man of action rather than simply impatient, however. I'm quite good at biding my time when the situation calls for it.

[He smiles again as the dragon perches on Fang's shoulder, even as Adelind attempts her usual preening of his hair and spots the image of the brown dragon on the linkshell. She trills, excited.]

He appears to be quite taken with you. Of course, I can hardly blame him.

Bet I know just how you like to pass those long, harsh, lonely nights, too. ( have a half-snort half-chuckle. you're good for a laugh, at least )

Somethin' about this whole dragoon business. Can't say it's something I'm all that familiar with.

Oh my. Well, as a gentleman, I think I'll just have to refrain from commenting. I'll have you know, however, there aren't very many lonely nights on this end.

[He nods in agreement, somewhat more serious now.]

I'm not terribly familiar with it, either. I was never thought of as a dragoon in my own world, though I suppose my proficiency with lances made me a good candidate for it here.

Another gentlemen. They seem to be crawlin' out of the woodwork these days. Heh.

Yea' it's the same for me. The word didn't mean much until now. But it still bothers me... I haven't been able to tap into all of the abilities I had before comin' here.
