Hey, pretty cool!

[Nevermind Edge. He's fiddling around with the linkshell, a little sidetracked, and probably not really focused on the main issue at hand. Well, not apparently, anyway. But behind that mask, Edge presses his lips into a thin line and he stares straight at the shell thing, gaze with a purpose.]

I'm uh. Kind of stuck in Damcyan—don't ask!—but really, I have to hitch a ride back to Eblan as soon as possible before the Seneschal kills me. Not literally, but you get the point! I'm a pretty busy guy, you know!

[But his emotions right now is a mixed bag—from confusion, to excitement, to worry, and everything else in between. Altogether it's a little overwhelming, but imagine how it feels for Edge who's trying his best to hide it behind that mask, as usual.]

King Bard's not helping much either— [Well actually, he's not there at Damcyan at all but Edge really isn't the person to divulge such a thing to everyone, okay. He has his boundaries.] —but I'm hoping one of you guys'll be willing to help out.

Anyone? Cecil, did you grow a beard yet? I bet your hands full with Rosa, heh! And you still look pretty as ever, right Rydia? I hope you're still not brooding, Kain. I mean, I know I'm good at that too, but you're threatening my title!

I was kind of hoping we'd get out of the task of beating some sense into him.

So, care to fill me in? Unless you didn't age a day since I last saw you, I'd say you're not from this time.

[She sighs, shaking her head.]

No, I'm not. Apparently, this is sixteen years ahead of where I'm supposed to be. The last thing I recall before awakening in the Underworld was Edward's celebration.

[She frowns, still unnerved by that.]

Luca and the twins know a lot more, however. And I've picked up a little girl who's more or less another copy, but not like that one. She's harmless.

Luca, Palom, and Porom, huh... I'll talk to them as soon as I get a chance.

Does she look anything like you? I bet she's a handful!

[Rydia shakes her head.]

Yes to that first one, no to the second. At least...not yet.

[Her expression grows serious.]

Edge, it's worse than you think. Cecil and Rosa aren't here, nor are the others I mentioned except Kain. More people arrive every day, but they haven't, yet. And...my Eidolons aren't responding to me. I'm going to the Feymarch to find out why.

They're not—

Rydia. I get that you're worried, but you sure you're going to be okay? If they're not responding... you know what that possibly means.

[She nods gravely.]

If there's another copy messing with my Eidolons, she'll regret it. I can't sit here and do nothing, so Luca's taking me and others there shortly. I won't let them down.

... there's no chance of you waiting for me to get down there too, huh?

[She shakes her head.]

This has to be done right away, Edge. Besides, you'll need to go to Eblan. I wouldn't count on the Seneschal actually being there, not with so many of our friends missing.

If you haven't already, I'll check up on Mist and Baron on the way. But you— —you be careful. I'm serious about this.

[She nods.]

I won't be reckless, but I need answers. And I haven't been able to check on either place, so...yes, if you're able to do that, I want to know.

Rydia does, at least me as how I was when that little. She doesn't look older than six...though given her nature, I'm not sure how old she really is. I don't think she's sure, either.

Now she's someone I'd really like to see once we get something figured out. Just make sure she doesn't Meteor me in the face for fun. If she's anything like you...

She doesn't have my temper...that I've noticed, yet. From what Luca said, she's spent most of her life on the moon, and it really shows. Nothing about this world is familiar to her, so she has to start from scratch. I'll try to help, though, once I'm with her again. I couldn't bring her into danger, so she's with the dwarves.

You're getting attached to her, aren't you. It's all over your face! This is one side of you I didn't expect to see from you so soon.

I'm not denying it. Seeing her greet with me with such absolute trust...well, I can't not take her in. And maybe if I can raise her right, the Eidolons will accept her, someday.

[Continuing Mist's legacy has always been important to her, but now even moreso that there's someone else with strong potential.]
