[Kain is still a little pale and sick-looking, but... he's alive.]

I've returned from true death twice now. I wonder whether this makes my luck better than average... or far worse.

[Worse for the dying in the first place, but better because... well, twice now he's faced what he thought was an eternal end for him, and come back both times. Kain pauses for a moment, gathering his thoughts. Going through death again reminds him though, of an important thing about what he saw.]

That dragon in the dream... I've encountered it before. All of Cosmos' warriors would have at the end of every cycle, whether they recall it or not. Its significance cannot be underestimated.

She knew that the dragon ate memories, and that the machine was built to fight it.

...she also said it's gotten stronger since that dream, that it happened a long time ago.

{Kain frowns, trying to make sense of it. He supposes this dragon would have influence beyond the war...]

Where did this happen, that they built such a machine against it?

She didn't say, though I'll ask her when she's feeling better. The healers should be here soon, with that new cure.

Perhaps I'll also speak with her sometime over what she knows. If she knows of the dragon...

[Yet another perspective on it would be interesting, even coming from such an unusual little girl.]

I've just heard word of that cure. It's about time.

Past time, really, but I'll be glad to see it over and done with.

...I don't see why not. When she's feeling better, I'll let her know you want to speak to her.

Likewise, especially after... Anyway. There's no need to hurry on that. Give her... and everyone... time to recover.

[She nods, looking him over again.]

Believe me, twice now is twice too many times to experience it.
