I've returned from true death twice now. I wonder whether this makes my luck better than average... or far worse.

[Worse for the dying in the first place, but better because... well, twice now he's faced what he thought was an eternal end for him, and come back both times. Kain pauses for a moment, gathering his thoughts. Going through death again reminds him though, of an important thing about what he saw.]

That dragon in the dream... I've encountered it before. All of Cosmos' warriors would have at the end of every cycle, whether they recall it or not. Its significance cannot be underestimated.

It appears so... I don't know if it followed us somehow... or what could have caused us to be drawn into that dream. But we must remain on guard. It's undoubtedly not the last we'll see of it...

The Warrior lost his memories within the dream, but then regained them when he woke. So... it's possible.

( he did?! -- she doesn't speak the words, but the surprise on her face is evident enough that that's what's on her mind... ) But how... I thought... the wars were over...!

They are over... or should be. Yet the dragon exerted the same influence as during the war, within the dream.

That's very... ( she pauses, seemingly reluctant to say more... but finally manages a quiet -- ) unsettling.

You're right. ( she knows this, but... if they aren't free from the grasp of the cycles... does that mean their sacrifice was in vain...? the summoners of the past... what would they say...? ) I just... it was... unexpected. ( it's the best way she can think to defend her obvious discomfort at the thought -- )
